Earnest Ray Byars was a Lance Corporal in the United States Marine Corps when he was Killed in Action in South Vietnam on 30 July 1967. Byars was born on 29 April 1948, and his home city of record is Houston, Texas. Byars' remains were returned in 1992 and he was buried in Arlington National Cemetery in 1993.
